Farra and I love nothing more than putting on the old work clothes and getting dirty. This month has been full of renovations and we couldn’t be happier about it! Here are some of the new additions to Oasis Yoga, check out the differences from week 10 and let us know if you have any killer ideas for our next project.
Oasis Yoga Week 20ish
26 JulOur little Yogis…
26 MayLast week at Oasis Yoga we had our frist Yoga for Kids class. We are really excited to develop this class and offer it on a regular basis starting in the fall. Those little guys melted our hearts, here are a few shots from the practice.
Peacock’n around…
25 AprOne of the best detoxifying poses is Mayurasana or Peacock Pose. This pose is one of the first 15 asanas ever to be written down. The first Yogis practicing asana understood its tremendous health benefits.
Here’s what Svatmarama wrote about mayurasana in the Hatha Yoga Pradipika:
“Mayurasana quickly alleviates all diseases like enlargement of the glands, dropsy (edema) and other stomach disorders. It rectifies imbalance of the humours (vata, pitta and kapha). It reduces to ashes all food taken indiscriminately, kindles the gastric fire and enables destruction of kalakuta (toxins). “– HYP 1.31

Whether you are new to yoga or a long term practioner looking to go deeper, Oasis Yoga retreats on the small island of Koh Lanta are the perfect way to transform your next holiday into an experience that will really last. Oasis Yoga – week one.
20 Mar
OPENING WEEK! We have dreamed about this for so long it hardly feels real. Monday marked our first day at Oasis Yoga, Koh Lanta! We are having a blast. It’s been a whirlwind of meeting people and figuring out the island, but somehow we have managed to sneak a few projects into the mix and Farra has never been happier! There is so much work to be done and we are thrilled to get dirty and watch the transformation. I have decided to dust off the ol’ blog and document this experience…. I have a feeling 60 year old Kate and Farra will appreciate it! 🙂
Zoe’s Lion
17 FebSIMHAGARJANASNA – Roaring Lion
“Especially good for children, this is an excellent asana for the throat, nose, ears, eyes and mouth, especially if performed facing the healing rays of the early morning sun. It relieves frustration and releases emotional tension. Tension is removed from the chest and diaphragm. Roaring Lion is useful for people who stutter or nervous. It develops a strong and beautiful voice.”
